The name Xuchila is actually a shortened "fem" variant I came up with based on Xuchilbara, the Red God from Silent Hill. It also sounds Aztec/Argonian and it worked.
Xuchila was considered male when she hatched. At one point she decided to be female, more on a whim rather than out of necessity. She would willingly shift back if she found a mate that preferred staying female however.
